King Rama VII was the last1 absolute monarch of Siam and the first constitutional monarch of Siam. H willingly presided during the 1932 bloodless revolution which did away with the old and brought in the new.2

Garuda is the name of the winged being illustrated above, and on Thailand’s 50 baht banknote. Lord Vishnu, the all-pervasive, all-penetrating, sum of all energy and origin of the multiverse, is borne where willed by Garuda, And the image of Garuda is the symbol of Thailand.
